Citizens of Republic of Serbia and Republic of Montenegro, can travel to all countries of the Schengen area without visa.
Visa free regime applies to all holders of biometric passports, who can travel without visa to the Schengen area and stay up to 90 days.

The Schengen area is made up of 28 European countries – the EU Member States except the UK and Ireland, as well as three non-EU members, Iceland, Norway and Switzerland.
Persons who do not hold a biometric passport, those who want to stay for more than 90 days or who intend to work in the Schengen area still need a visa. The same rule is applied for residents of Kosovo holding a Serbian passport issued by the Coordination Directorate in Belgrade.

One can get an application from the Visa Department of the Embassy. Otherwise it could be downloaded from the web site of the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration at www.udi.no
The handling fee is paid when submitting the application as follows:
• Application for visa EUR 35
• Application for residence/work permit EUR 330
• Application for family reunion EUR 500 (minor children are not subject to this handling fee)
• Passport has to be valid at least three months after the expiry of the visa period
• Minor children (of school age) have to apply in person together with both parents. They also need to present birth certificate (original) and verified consent from non-accompanying parents
• The required documentation must be enclosed with the application (see sections for tourist, or business visa, or residence permit)
• The processing period for visa applications is, from 1st August 2008, minimum 10-15 days, but may also be extended to several months.
• The processing period for applications for residence/work permits: several months, for certain application categories 10-12 months.
• The Embassy will inform the applicant on the decision.
