“North fairytale” performed for the first time on Madlenianum stage on December 10th , 2011 is based on the romantic, nostalgic music of one of the greatest composers of the 19th century, the Norwegian Edvard Grieg.

18 pieces from Grieg’s music for Ibsen’s drama with all well known pieces are part of “North fairytale” such as: „Solveig’s song“„Morning“, „Anitra’s dance“, „Arabian dance“, but also many unknown parts and musical solutions that make this ballet a multi project with coreo-drama and opera-ballet dance, performances by vocals and orchestra, narrator, acting and singing.

This glamorous project is performed by the ballet ensemble with young Miloš Marijan and excellent performances of Bojana Žegarac (Solveig), Olga Olćan (Anitra), Sanja Nikolić (Ingrid), Danica Arapović (mother Ase) and many others.

The conductor of Madlenianum symphonic orchestra is Stanko Jovanović and the famous artist from Croatia, Staša Zurovac is in charge for choreography, directing and dramaturgy.

Among the performers are Tanja Obrenović, mezzo-soprano, Nenad Nenić, baritone and the young Jasmina Stojković, soprano (Solveig - vocal role) and the famous actor Miodrag Krivokapić as a narrator.

The show features exclusive video design by the set designer Valentin Svetozarev, together with video effects by Marin Luković,  which create the impression of three dimensions and fairytale environment.
