Norway supports the regional efforts against sexual child abuse on the Internet

Last updated: 01/12/2011 // Through a three day training program, the Serbian Ministry of Interior together with OSCE Mission to Serbia will put 20 police officers in position to discover pictures and movies of sexual child abuse on the Internet.

The intensive hands-on training took place in Belgrade this week and it gathered students from several countries on the Western Balkans, including Albania and Macedonia.

The teams of instructors consist of experts from Denmark and Serbia. The software used in the training is developed within the Norwegian Police, and it is based on recognizing a huge number of illicit material. This method has been used several times before in Europe, and has lead to some major police operations against those who distribute child pornography.

This training is supported financially by the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
