Belgrade/Nis, April 14, 2008, VITEC A.S., Norway and WELDING CENTER d.o.o., Nis, Serbia signed founding act.

Mr. Bjarne Bjørnebakk, Managing Director of VITEC A.S. and Mr. Stefan Milovanovic, Managing Director of WELDING CENTER d.o.o. signed founding act , by which VITEC A.S. acquired 51% of capital of the Serbian company WELDING CENTER d.o.o. VITEC A.S. is a leading Norwegian company in the field of welding education, certification and inspection of welds,  partly owned by AKER KVAERNER GROUP, Norwegian industry giant. WELDING CENTER d.o.o.started up in 2006 in the Business Incubator Nis.

This agreement is a result of investment and expansion plans for WELDING CENTER, especially in the field of educating and certificating qualified welders up to the European standards, who will be consequently engaged in industrial projects in Serbia, Norway and other countries. The plan is to educate and certify more than one hundred Serbian welders every year. Welders educated in WELDING CENTER will strongly contribute to the general quality and competitiveness of mechanical industry in Serbia.

This agreement is one concrete results of the Business Incubator development in Nis and the business match-making activities of ENTRANSE, directed to assist Serbian SMEs that are incubated in the Business Incubator. In the following month, Fostec Serbia will be established and registered. Fostec Serbia will develop a Resource and Competence Center for skilled workers and engeneers. The outcome will be several hundred new jobs in the Nis region.
